Puradyn Assisting National Environmental Directives

Puradyn Filter Technologies Incorporated announced that it continues to assist Florida municipalities in implementing Florida environmental directives as well as broadening its reach to national levels.

Kevin G. Kroger, President and Chief Operating Officer, stated, “In 2006, the US Department of Energy (DoE), published results of a three-year test conducted on the oil consumption, benefits and cost analysis of bypass oil filtration technology using the puraDYN® oil filtration system. At that time, we announced the results showed an 89% avoidance of oil purchases in the heavy duty diesel and sports utility test vehicles using the puraDYN oil filtration system.

“The outcome of the DoE results has brought our product to the attention of other entities on a national level as well as served to strengthen existing local relationships in Florida.

“In Idaho, the puraDYN system has been installed on the engines and hydraulic systems of specially equipped Gradall XL-5200 excavators used by the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) to clean up 40 acres of nuclear waste so that human intervention in the radioactive area is significantly reduced due to the extended service intervals.

“In California and Oregon, the puraDYN system is offered in the outreach centers of Cascade Sierra Solutions (CSS). CSS is targeted toward long-haul truckers andis aligned with the EPA’s SmartWay Transport Program, a partnership between EPA and the freight industry to increase energy efficiency. One of the main principles of CSS is conservation – conserving energy and reducing oil consumption.

“In Oregon, the Bureau of Land Management has begun outfitting our product for use on its equipment and the U.S. Forestry Division has included funding for Puradyn’s bypass filtration technology in its 2009 fiscal budget.”

Kroger continued, “Closer to home, Miami-Dade County Fleet Management Administration has used the puraDYN system for several years on their fleet of garbage trucks and continues to be one of our many success stories.” Puradyn ships approximately 4,000 replacement filters a year to the county.

Kroger continued, “Miami-Dade was one of the first, but won’t be the last, Florida county that sees the benefit of using our oil filtration system. We recently began working with other counties in Florida. One such program will involve outfitting over 650 vehicles with puraDYN bypass oil filtration systems, translating into nearly 2,000 replacement filters consumed annually. The program is scheduled to be shipped throughout 2009, with the first allotment of 60+ systems already having been delivered. The puraDYN system will be installed on all County vehicles including earth-moving equipment, refuse trucks, and fire and emergency vehicles. We expect similar performance with our systems as demonstrated by Miami-Dade.”

Kroger went on to say, “Since taking office in 2006, Governor Crist has made sure that State government is taking a lead in environmental issues. With the integration of ‘green’ resources into Florida municipalities, schools, public transportation, etc., the benefits of using our oil filtration system to greatly reduce oil consumption and waste oil disposal makes perfect sense.”

Kroger concluded, “In the U.S., we consume 1.5 billion gallons of vehicle oil and 0.5 billion in hydraulic oil each year. By using the puraDYN system to keep lubricating oil continuously clean, all Florida counties will be able to reduce the purchase of engine, transmission and hydraulic oil by up to 90% and will be able to significantly reduce any fleet’s carbon footprint. Puradyn operates in a global community but as a Florida-based company, we’re glad to be a vital part of assisting our local market to help meet Governor Crist’s environmental commitment.”
